Couple

It has been a fairly dull day but rain was not forecast so we decided to head up the Northumberland coast.  We did a walk along the beach at Druridge Bay - it certainly blew the cobwebs away but I enjoyed it immensely.  We sat and had lunch on a concrete block that had been used to defend the shore during the war.

Afterwards we stopped off at Newbiggin and had a walk along the promenade.  My picture is of the sculpture 'Couple' by Sean Henry which has been there since 2007.  The couple are just standing looking out to sea.   My extra photo is of a smaller version of the sculpture where you can see a front view of the pair of them.  This is on the promenade.

After a welcome coffee in the cafe we headed home.  A very enjoyable day!
