Michaelmas

Too many years ago to number, I attended a Church of England junior school dedicated to St Michael.  Every year, in Autumn ,we held a Harvest Festival assembly when we were encourage to bring food (for disribution to local people in need).   As well as can of something, my sister and I also took bunches of Michaelmas Daisies from the front garden.  Apart from the name, they were the school colours, so very appropriate.

Fast forward to today, and this flower, with its furry visitor, comes from my garden from plants which originated from those original plants. They flower reliably every year as a reminder of a happy childhood.
