Fayence - then and now

As we walked through the little town of Fayence this afternoon we noticed some photos of the town taken around 1900. This scene had some clear pointers that are also in the old photo which I've reproduced as an extra. Clearly it's taken after the leaves have fallen but the doorway of the church is easily recognisable as are the shapes of the trees.

Another lovely day. Who wouldn't want to live in Provence?
