Freshwater evening
Today I have mainly been lying around the garden, reading a book recommended some time ago by Earthwatcher. It has been fantastically hot here on the isle of Wight, and B and M are such genial hosts, that it's been easy to let the hours slip away sunbathing and catching up.
Towards evening, with the prospect of a later drinks party to look forward to, CleanSteve and I took a stroll down to the beach at Freshwater bay, to catch a fraction of the action. My eye was caught by a toddler, to the left in the scene, in a stripy sunsuit, who was rather wobbly on sand and kept nearly toppling over, but bending down to pick up handfuls of sand to play with. Unfortunately by the time I got the camera out again, she had plonked herself down, but you can just see the boys on the right filling up their toy lorries with sand and water. A happy seaside scene, at least to my eyes. It was late, but no one was fractious or sunburned. Thank heavens for days like these!
