Blaenafon Ironworks

"You know that place between sleep and awake, the place where you can still remember dreaming? ...  That's where I'll be waiting"
Tinkerbell

ok J M Barrie, Peter Pan

In just such a place I opted for a quick visit to Blaenafon Ironworks to get a few [dozen] photos on a day made for photography, plenty of light to paint with.

The last time I visited here I had to pay to get in, now it's free and they've added plenty of interest from my perspective.  It wasn't until I wandered through the cottages, dressed to represent the different ages, that I realised I was officially history.  Plenty of stuff around that I could remember from childhood, if not from my own home then that of my relatives in the Rhymney valley.

Had an interesting chat with a couple from Yorkshire who were in the area, an amateur geologist scouting the area for locations for his groups spring field trip, and his wife who navigated them from Brecon to Crickhowell - and went via Llanthony Abbey?  obviously a short cut I've not noticed before.
