L for Ladies Bathing Pool, La Vallette
Another hot sunny day! A friend took me to Herm by private boat. As we arrived the Travel Trident arrived also, and then a second Travel Trident, so we let them use the berth first! It was a little tricky jumping into a tiny dinghy and then climbing up a ladder, but we managed to do it without capsizing and I didn't lose my flip-flops!
We hired a kayak at Shell beach and paddled around to Belvoir, which was very crowded. Then lunch at the Mermaid. The only draw back was having to go back to Guernsey early, as the tides mean you have to moor back in the marina within 3 hours of low tide. Herm is such a lovely special island, so different, and on a day like today, it was like a tropical island. A lovely day out!
I blipped this L location for the alphabet challenge on my detour cycle ride home again, the salt water tidal pool, one of several all next to each other and built in the 1860s.
