Stanley Dock

Stanley dock is the next on my trip, situated either side on the dock road and one of the few that bites into the city side of the road. Opened in 1848 and joins onto the Leeds Liverpool canal. Covers over 7 acres and could take ships slightly wider than 50ft. Had a quay length of over 750yds. The inner dock is overshadowed by the huge Tobacco warehouse that is now thankfully being modernised on one side. The other side now shows off the new Titanic Hotel. My extras show the different sides. These are grade ll listed buildings. It's so pleasing to see the work going on to regenerate this dock. My only long term concern is that we have so many new hotels in Liverpool, we must reach saturation point soon. The main blip shown riverside looking out to the entrance on the Mersey with the old clock tower. They were erecting a stage close by (looks like a concert)
