Mules have their Own Agenda

Looking up the long valley we had walked down yesterday (see extra), it seemed a different place in the morning sunshine. We were late leaving as there was a hilarious round up of the mules that did not want to be laden again. We must have spent an hour watching and "helping" before we set off. Thank goodness we did set off then, as now I am sitting in the tent on a field in the valley of Laspa with the rain bouncing off the tent.

Tonight some of our porters leave the group and there is supposed to be a "party" which includes killing and eating a poor sheep. This is rather difficult for several of us vegetarians!
