Don't Blink

For those of you wondering what the title refers to, see here.

We got up early as we wanted to head out for a longer wander than usual. And we took the ferry to possibly the best-named village in Germany - a village so unremarkable that it doesn't even have an English Wikipedia page - the beautifully named Dingelsdorf.

I'm hoping that some of you will use Dingelsdorf in the same way you  use "das Dingsbums" to describe that thing you can't remember the name of.

YourFriend: "So where was this amazing restaurant you went to ?"
YourOvercrowdedBrain : "Oh it was in Dingelsdorf - you know, our Theresa lived there when she worked for that mad bloke with the pipes..."

Our plan was to  walk from there over to Allensbach and then take the ferry over to Reichenau and explore there for a few hours before heading back to Konstanz and then on to Meersburg.

But.

One should never underestimate how un-user-friendly some timetables can be.

So we gave up on visiting the island - a shame because I quite fancied trying to blip the tree-lined avenue that connects Reichenau to the mainland.

No matter.  When we come back, we'll base ourselves in Konstanz and that will make things easier (and a lot livelier).
