inspired by a nasturtium plant
It was just a seedling in a pot when Pam gave it to me. Now it is rampaging all over the bed opposite my kitchen window. its bright orange flowers seem to be watching me while I wash up, almost glowing in the dimming light of early evening.
It's not only decorative. It has many culinary uses. You can stuff the flowers or shred them in a salad, use the leaves in a pesto or a soup and pickle the peppery seeds. Surely a flower with many hidden talents.
The slugs appreciate their edible qualities too!
