Cane Train!!

It's that time of the year again and Bundaberg comes to a stand still when the Cane Trains are working. It's a frenetic race to cut the cane and get it to the mill before the rain comes. There was a fellow sprouting on the news last night about the intense sugar content in the canes at the moment - another reason to crop it now and on top of that, there's a high demand for the product.

We were heading home from seeing Nettie when we were stopped at this crossing as the train was leaving the mill on its way back to collect another load.
