Wheatear (female) at Lytham
This is a heavily cropped tatty looking picture but as this was the first time I have ever seen a wheatear, it has made it as a blip.
The birds are on migration to the Sahara but stopped off on the sand dunes in Lytham today. It was a very hot day and I am not sure whether the birds were taking a rest or whether they thought they had arrived! :-)
They were spotted this morning whilst I was out walking with two friends. I didn't have my lens with me so I went back in the afternoon. Although there didn't seem to be as many off them around by then, I managed to get this shot.
