How They Grow...

This evening was our Meet the Creature Teacher night at my school.  It is always fun to see our students with their parents.  Even more fun to see how much students have grown and matured over the summer!

This little doll (the girl, I mean), was my first student last year as she has autism and is non-verbal.  Last year, she carried around a little doll (the one on the cover of the books), but she was encouraged to be not insist on carrying that doll around.........................Long story short, she replaced it with this doll that has no clothes on. Always beware....if you want to replace a behaviour, remember that it will often be replaced with a new one.  In this case, a new object  : )
What I loved most about seeing her today, was knowing that:  1) She dressed herself (and she has a real keen fashion sense, although it was +30 C); and, 2) She remembers my name.  Cool.
