Kirk at Risk

It's been a stunning day of sunshine and warm too :)  Just typical it clouded over after work and the wind picked up.

Another day on the museum desk.  It's been a busy day with more events on, more events to setup for tomorrow and also tonight.  Certainly had a great busy spell of things on and keeping me busy.  It's been a lazy evening at home, tired tonight and still have to do my shift in the pub.

Mam wanted to meet up for lunch, so we agreed on meeting in Quarff.  Mam has been involved in looking at the war memorial here and finding it a new home.  You can get a glimpse of it on the right side of the building.  The community is wanting it moved, as the old kirk is falling into disrepair  note the holes in the roof and missing slates.  Shame the community can't buy it.  It closely resembles on of the 42 standard T-plan Thomas Telford kirks provided by an Act of Parliament of 1823, but is in fact by Davidson and Macfarlane, built 1829.
