Sunny…………..
………......…Yellow
Yesterday’s yellow flower is always a welcome sight, unlike these yellow flowers of the Gorse plant, although it produces a magnificent ‘sea of yellow’ at flowering time.
Gorse
- was introduced to New Zealand from Britain by early settlers from the 1830’s as a hedging plant.
- with ideal growing conditions here it quickly spread and is now regarded as one of NZ’s worst weeds
- in NZ it flowers twice in a year producing seeds that can remain viable in the soil for many years.
- this two metre or more high plant is stubborn and difficult to remove.
This plant grows WILD and it is my entry for Cailleach’s informal Wild Wednesday challenge.
Many thanks for your comments, stars and hearts for yesterday’s blip. I was pleased to show you Monday’s mono image in colour and very pleased many of you liked both versions.
