Book group tea

Another work out at the gym, then a quick tidy up - my turn to host the book group. My choice was "Play it Again" by Alan Rusbridger. It is his diary of him learning to play Chopin's Ballade No 1, while at the same time, edit the Guardian through the Wikileaks and phone-hacking scandals. All except the piano player amongst us hated it, but even though I can't play the piano, or even hold a tune to sing, I found the process of his detailed account of making progress with the piece, and his very full life so interesting that I got a lot out of it. I think as I get older I prefer books I can get my teeth into. I certainly prefer biographies and other non-fiction to some of the rather light novels that seem to abound.

They did all enjoy their tea though!

Feet up and TV - second episode of the return of Cold Feet tonight. I was disappointed in the first, but the acting is good and I want to enjoy it.
