'Glass, Lace and Rainbow houses'

The weather has been even hotter...a day for getting away on a boat. We took a four and a half hour guided tour to three islands of Murano, home of the glass makers, Burano, home of the Lacemakers, and full of rainbow coloured houses., then Torcello, a single hamlet and a beautiful patchwork of green fields and leafy canals, Torcello is dominated by the cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. This is Venice's oldest building (founded in 639).

Pizza tonight for dinner...with anchovies and capers.....now have a raging thirst! It had to be done...but not really my thing.

ps ....Mango Ice Cream today...delicious.
