That Looks Like It Should Hurt

I saw this egret picking along the edge of the marsh behaving normally except for the extremely crooked neck look he had going on.
I understand their neck bones allow for a certain degree of flexibility in order to swallow caught fish but rarely see this position.
I don't believe the bird was hurt at all because I did see him catch a fish so I guess he was just trying out a new routine.
