Take the high road

Yesterday's activity left us both feeling exhausted! We had a nap in the afternoon and after an early pizza dinner, we had an early night and ended up sleeping for a good 12 hours!

That left us feeling refreshed for the long day of driving we had today.

First stop was Cape Agulhas, which is the southernmost point of Africa and the true geographical point where the Atlantic and Indian oceans meet.

We stopped for coffee there and got chatting to an American couple who gave us some great travel advice for visiting Alaska (which we are thinking of doing next year).

From there, we drove to Mossel Bay so we could pick up the mountain road to Oudtshoorn. For most of the journey, we were the only car on the road! If there's a scenic route, we will always choose to take it and this was a wise move.
We were rewarded for taking the high road with a most spectacular rainbow; my iPhone photo really doesn't do it justice!
