Last night we went for a walk and found a street just full of bars and restaurants;Last night we went for a walk and found a street just full of bars and restaurants; it was hard to choose where to go but we settled for Italian.
It was lovely to sit outside, eat, chat and watch the world go by. The strange thing was, we felt like we were in France rather than Montreal.

Our wake up call this morning was at 5.50am......yay!

The coach made its way to the capital city of Canada, Ottawa, where had a brief stop at the Cultural museum, before stopping in the city centre where we had time to mooch round the market and up to Parliament Hill.
I liked the market; all the stalls were very efficiently laid out, with all the produce neatly stacked in little baskets.
I bought the biggest beef tomato I've ever seen to snack on and we also bought some strawberries to share.

Ottawa didn't seem that busy to say it's the capital city.

Another 2 hours on the road and we reached the Thousand Islands. Most people opted for a boat cruise down the river; but we didn't fancy it, especially as it was raining hard again. The trip didn't receive rave reviews (it looked like lake Windermere to us) so we didn't feel like we missed out.

We didn't get to the hotel in Toronto until almost 7pm; they weren't kidding about it being a long day! The drive in was an experience...a 10 lane highway on either side, yikes!

The original plan was to do CN tower in the morning with the coach group. However, we decided we would just have enough time to get there tonight before sundown which would allow us to see Toronto in daylight, twilight and evening.
It was well worth the effort and now we will have free time in the morning to have a look round the local market.

I struggled to choose one photo for today so you have a collage; I'm sitting on the glass floor of the tower, which is at 342m (1122ft). We also paid extra to go to the highest view point of the tower, called the Skypod, which was 33 storeys higher than the observation deck at 447m (1465ft).
