Lourdes

I walked three miles today!  This is a classic view of Lourdes and in the extras is a less, though I think just as beautiful, view of the underground Basilica of St Pius 10th.  This underground basilica was completed in 1958 and can accommodate 25,000 people.  The nave is 191m long and 61m wide and there are portraits of the saints suspended from the ceiling all round.  We were delighted to visit to cool off!   35 degrees today.  Extra too of the more traditional basilica built over the grotto of St Bernadette.
