Time poor

Sometimes, I think trying to fit the radio show into my life is a bit too ambitious. It's not just compiling a new playlist each week, it's finding the time at the weekend to record it, too, which takes somewhere between two and three hours, usually. On balance, though, I'm glad I make the effort (and I'm grateful to the Minx for the number of times she has listened to me ruminate on the pros and cons).

This week was one of those weeks where I had to think carefully about how I was going to fit it in. As is so often the case, an early start provided the answer, meaning there was enough time later on to assemble some of the items that we bought from Ikea, yesterday, before Izzy and I set off to London, where she is taking up residence.

We were on the motorway by four pm and in north London about five hours later, including a couple of pit stops along the way. Thankfully, a small welcoming committee had assembled at her flat, so we had plenty of help moving everything from the car and up two flights of stairs. It still took three trips!

The photo, by the way, is in the room that has yet to be named at the house. As well as the kit to record the show, it contains all my music equipment and the desk at which I hope to write the novel that has been bouncing around my head for nearly twenty years. I just need to figure out how I'm going to manage to fit in the music and the writing when I already struggle to fit in the radio show and the blogging.

All suggestions gratefully received!
