Transitioning
So the ostensible link with the title is that today was my first real transitioning back to work day with the ratio of that to other stuff going considerably higher than any other day for a long old while. It was kind of helped by J being wiped after his full on day yesterday* and Anna being out catching up with some school friends before they go back tomorrow.
It was also the start of me transitioning away from all the Anna time. We may not have done all of the usual summer things we do but we have had a lovely summer of board/card game madness and our outings to The Play That Went Wrong and FriendsFest over the last couple of weeks have been perfect. Anna is most excellent company.
The real transition comes over the next three days as it was brought to my attention today that is how many walks to school we have left before she starts going with her friends.
Of course I'm not ready. And of course she most perfectly is.
Given I have a child at home that I wish wasn't you'd have thought I would handle this stuff better.
As someone who works from home having a dog to take for a walk in the morning once this moment came was high on the list of reasons for getting Albi. She's about to come into her own.
