Jersey Day Two
A perfect touristy day - fine scenery, a running commentary on interesting historical facts, frequent tasty refuelling stops for coffee, lunch and a big super ice cream.
It was a very hot day, the likes of which our Edinburgh peely wally skins have not seen for a long while. We stopped at little harbours all the way round the east coast - Gorey, Rozel and Bonne Nuit, to name but a few.
We had a wonderful lunch at the Crab Shack at Gorey. I had a crab salad, full of yummy things like avocado, nuts, sweetcorn and sweet lettuce. JR tucked into a crab taco and declared it delicious too. Bob had a seafood linguine, with everything in it, while Anne stuck to chicken.
In the evening we went and sat in their new(ish) camper van, and admired the facilities. Toilet, shower, oven fridge, television - you name it. Bore no resemblance to the campervan we had the 90s which was very very basic. I think JR was slightly tempted to try one... Or maybe she was just being polite.
We were tempted to sail to St Malo in France for the day tomorrow, just because we can, but have decided not to. I'm not sure I could cope with wandering round a town, however picturesque, for several hours in the heat, waiting for the boat back. So we're going into the big metropolis that is St Helier. I am hoping to spot Bergerac.
