Applying for support for the Girl Child

This is part of the large group who gathered at the Centre for Learning to make applications for support for their girls in Secondary school.

This time we asked all parents, guardians, relatives and whoever is caring for our girls to sign a contract commiting them to make sure the girls attend ALL Saturday classes, and I'm sure there are other, more sensitive commitments as well.

There are girls we had last year, and we are awaiting the results of Standard 8 exams, to gather the new group transferring to Form 1, if they have gained a place in Secondary school.

We will also have our own entrance exams to see how bad things are and try to have groups at different levels. Its a tough task, but we have to try.
