Death by Spider
The ways of Mother Nature can be quite daunting.
On the way home from work, I passed by a familiar meadow and allotted myself a few minutes to catch a blip. The field was full of dragonflies so I was delighted. As I was blipping the head of the dragonfly in this image, nature got in the way. A perfectly camouflaged wood spider quickly moved into my frame. The spiders legs engulfed the dragonfly in what seemed like a nanosecond. I blipped a few times. Before I knew it the spider had ended the dragonfly's life. I scrambled to readjust the settings on my camera in hope of a much better blip, but when I looked up, the spider and the dragonfly were gone.
Mother Nature can be subtle sometimes and dramatic at others. Today she provided me great drama.
I hate to blip and run but Wednesday is an hour away and I have an very early flight in the morning. Thank you for your wonderful views and comments on my Boy Bravo blip. I continue to hope for more blip time and more blipfoto tiime. Hopefully it will be at my door soon.
The image may be a bit better in large. There are some shots that you wish you had a do over. Among other things, had I blipped a moment earlier, I would have caught the spider whilst it literally pranced on the spiders head.
