Overgrown

Quite often you can come across a house which looks neglected and overgrown, yet the neighbouring houses are all neat and well cared for.

This is one such house overlooking the Stray in Harrogate. It is certainly in a desirable neighbourhood. As you can see, the front door hasn't been used in a while and nature is reclaiming the space. There was an open window and evidence of life within. I suspect any inhabitants probably use the side entrance.
Often, and sadly, the reason is because the resident(s) have become elderly, may have few relatives or friends,  and are unable to look after their property and perhaps seldom leave home. It makes you realise how fortunate many of us are.
