Wash day blues .....

And reds and greens ! Another morning of waiting. Went down at 8am to see how much straw was cut . The herd away with a load of lambs to Stirling so had to to take the Jeep as Landrover otherwise engaged.
Got Kevin to take bales of barley straw out to all the fields of cows as a definite autumnal feel earlier on.
Checked the straw again at 11am then headed off to bale at 12.30. Got 3 bales done before a shower of rain! Kept going as a wind and the sun appeared later on. The combine cutting Spring barley in another field but the straw too raw to bale plus right next to the scheme and the little darlings get out of school at 3.30pm .
Came home and went back down for the last load of bales. Used the wee 75hp New Holland tractor. Like turning the clock back 30 odd years to when I left school and carted straw with a 2wd Ford 4600.
Did a boiler suit wash today as they were starting to fester in a heap on the scullery floor !
