Baby Nursery

Is what "Säuglingsheim" translates as.  The article to go with it is "das".  And I'm going to guess that Mat 21:16 is going to be a reference to a Bible verse but I'm not overly bothered about checking.

It's odd but people use the term Baby in German (again "das Baby") but there is the very serviceable "der Säugling".  The verb "saugen" means "to suck" or suckle.  And it's "der" only because (I think) all words that end in "ling" are "der".  And no, you can't use the German trick of adding the suffix "-in" to make it feminine.

It was another hot, hot day.  And when it goes over 28°C in the office, I'm sure my brains turn to scrambled eggs.  And when you can't open the windows because it's warmer outside, it is not conducive to productive working.  Still I could  concentrate on sorting out a few problems for people.

2 gripes today.

People who use that whistle tone thing on Samsung phones for WhatsApp messages.  If you get a message every 10 seconds of the day and you use that tone, you are a Trumpet.

And the bloke who parked his car outside the Cortina Eis Café.  You sir, are das Arschloch des Tages.  He double parked on the corner of the Dotzheimer Straße and Steinmetzstraße - blocking traffic coming up the street from turning right.  And the pair of them got out and went in to order ice cream.  Because no-one wants to get home in the rush hour. Meanwhile traffic was piling up because behind him one car wanted to turn right and couldn't because Arschloch was parked right on the corner.
