Close Encounter

Today's trip was to Rio Safari Park, near Elche on the Costa Blanca.  We have been here several times before and always had a good day - today was no exception. My two older granddaughters were more than willing to 'swim with the sea lions' although this was well rehearsed and only the sea lions did any swimming.  Good photo opportunities and the compact camera did very well - I missed my zoom lens very much though as the compact just doesn't stretch far enough; the blip is of Anna with the smaller of the two sea lions.

I have to say that I think a few compromises have been made this year - the land-train ride was shorter and quicker, the parrot show (always good fun) was faster and the sea lion display definitely lacked the depth of information we have been give in the past.

We were later than we intended back to the villa and it has been a long evening to get children settled.  We plan an easier day around the villa tomorrow to give us all a chance of recovery!
