The cornfields are cleared

The grain is gathered and the tractors are out.

I'd often wondered why after clearing the fields the tractors harrowed up these esoteric grids in the stubble. Then it dawned on me. They are using a heavy tine harrow (?) to pull up the compacted soil created by the crop sprayers that always use the same runs through the crop. Then they use a plough or single pass tool to prepare the seedbed for the next crop.

It's bone dry and dusty work at the moment.
