Carcavelos Conference

At a conference of our organisation in Carcavelos - the nearest decent beach to Lisbon.

The fort is São Julião da Barra, situated where the Tagus officially enters the Atlantic; there is another fort on the south side to guard the entrance - the ironic fact is that the only time it was attacked was by the French, and they came easily - from the landward side. In Salazar's time, it was used as a political prison, with the prisoners being kept in dreadful conditions.

Managed to escape for a quick walk with M and Bia - after all, needed to get a blip, didn't I?
