Dune Heath.
This area is now a nature reserve, many years ago it was poor quality farm land. My father referred to it as "The Poverty" as it was of such low fertility. Between the wars it became a golf course, when WWII broke out the MOD took over the area and an airfield was built just north of this shot, it is still there today. However a few years ago English Nature obtained most of the remaining land and it is now being returned to a more natural setting. Gorse is gradually being cleared and sheep and cattle are grazing to allow grasses etc to thrive.
