Backblip

Today we travelled from our lovely BnB to Anita & Daves farm near Enniskillen. Anita is a friend I made at our photography club, her and husband Dave and their boys shifted to Timaru from Christchurch after the devastating earthquake.  They shifted back to their Irish home two years ago. Fantastic to see them all again - the four boys have all grown, its been over two years since they left Timaru.

The further north we travelled the more trees and more English the countryside looked to us.  We arrived mid afternoon and had a good catch up.  Anita cooked at magnificent meal, then we went for a walk around their farm, looking at the cattle and sheep, walked along the river bank back to the house.  Desert followed, apple pie and berry and white chocolate cheesecake, delish!!

Now, a summary of our day - from Ballina we took the seaside route (a L road), tiny winding & narrow , with groups of houses sometimes with a pub & church, but not always. Then back onto  a R road for a while, then onto the faster N road to Sligo. We intended stopping here on our journey north, but it was all go,  a bit hard to find a park so drove through and out the other side (no seaweed bath was taken). 
We did a detour to a this wee village  of Mullaghmore where we had a nice lunch (I had the most delicious cake, asked for the recipe), she gave me her email address and will send to me, such a lovely lady.  The wind was really cold but no rain, We walked along the harbour wall, noticed this little family making a sand story, reminded me of our Wellington family (No, I'm not homesick).  The colours looked nice along with the bright colours of the kayaks.

I only took around 20 photos today which makes an easy choice for my blip.
