Swallowtail on Bull Thistle

Thistle flower nectar was the meal of choice for butterflies and other insects. A few smaller butterflies, bees, beetles, and wasps opted for purple coneflower, but for monarchs and swallowtail butterflies one simply had to wait by thistle flowers.
