In the shade

On this very hot day, Hoppy our white Chinese goose was enjoying a bowl of bread soaked in water. Far better than the corn and pellets provided for her. It is cool for the birds under the willows .

Hoppy has not had a happy time of late, as her grey goose partner of some years sadly died on Saturday and she has been rather lonely without him. We only have three geese left now. They are all single so perhaps they wil get together.
