Stalked!

Dogs will usually come when called, but most cats have selective hearing unless the sound of a tin opener is heard. This one however decided to follow me around one day without any encouragement or invitation, and fearing that I would be accused of catnapping I tried to "shoo" it away - which proved to be a fun game until it decided disdainfully that it had amused me for long enough.

I love cats and spent many happy years as a live-in servant to four of them until they moved off to their happy hunting ground. I still miss them for their selfish companionship, even knowing, as Terry Pratchett says in his Discworld novel Men at Arms, that “Cats will amusingly tolerate humans only until someone comes up with a tin opener that can be operated with a paw.”
