Deadly Serious

Even thought it was raining, we headed to Edinburgh today to watch the street performers.

Lunch first, a fair bit of shopping, then the rain decided to stop and the acts started about 4pm. Saw several, feet feel like we've walked for miles and i was even part of one of the acts, having to hold a rope with 11 other people whilst this guy, called Deadly Serious, from Australia, juggled lit torches whilst balancing on one foot on the rope a couple of feet off the ground. As the first guy nearest him I think I was taking most of the strain trying to hold the rope up and hes's not very light!

He had a really tough crowd and worked it well, especially considering there was a drunk heckler a the side of the stage who wouldn't shut up for the whole 40 minutes, so he ended up responding with several put down lines to the guy which everyone laughed at.

Mrs P took some shots whilst I was part of the act, so I went up after he had finished collecting money and asked if I could get a shot. Quick as a flash he grabbed his whip and produced this pose. Blip in the bag!

Didn't realise it was so late, one minute it was 4pm, then 8pm was upon as in no time at all, so quick flying visit to our friends R&G in Duffy (thanks for dinner!!), watch the finals of the mens 100m at the Olympics on telly and zoom home in the rain just before midnight so I can post this.

Ton of other shots from today that i'll need to sort through and post up to Flickr, as this was my first Fringe 2012 trip this year.
