End of an Era
This is really sad :(
I knew that the secondary school I went to, Elgin Academy, was undergoing demolition. A new school has been built to replace the old one.
So on our way home from our holidays, I wanted to go past and see how much of school was left. This is what school used to look like: here
Everything has gone, the X and Y floor block, the PE block, the canteen, the library, the A floor, the basement, the music department, the reception, the techy department, even the chinky pond. All gone. All the remains are the (what I presume) steel girders of the assembly hall and this is what is left of the tower block.
I bet everyone is glad they don't have to walk up 7 flights of stairs every day now. Stairs that went round in a sort of square shaped spiral and you dreaded dropping anything down the stairwell, or having to dodge when folk decided to gob down the stairwell from floors above!
Art was at the top, biology at the bottom.
But it is really sad to see it all going.
Met my mum for lunch and then headed home. Great holiday but everyone is now exhausted. Looking forward to sleeping in my bed tonight!
