Despite the less-than-stellar forecast for today, the weather was once again amazing: sunny and warm with just a slight breeze.
Another day of holidays, another huge chunk of doing not much (in a good way): met with an old school friend for coffee, lunch at Fins, went down to Portencross, climbed up the castle, played on the beach, stopped by Route78 Motorbikes to have a quick gawk, dinner, ice-creams from Nardini's (I think the consensus from sampling fish & chips and ice-cream from east and west coasts is that east is the winner apart from the chips. I do like a west coast chip) and finally some more horse-opoly.
It's the game that never ends.
Portencross is much like I always imagined Kirrin castle would be; reading the Famous Five books to +2/3 and +3/3 at the moment meant they understood what I was wittering on about as we wandered around: the natural harbour, the old castle. I wonder if there were dungeons... The photo is of +1/3 looking out one of the windows inside the castle.
Extras: hazy view to Arran, fishing'n'sailing, crepuscular sunset and more Portencross.
