With the AOGames 2016 drawing to an end and chances of getting medals dwindling the big gun was called in for the penultimate event- the Neck Contorting.
Kotuku the white heron was told her best chance of winning was to stand as still as possible and wind up her neck as far round as she possibly could. Nearby oystercatchers and seagulls cheered as she managed a 90 degree turn.
A pity Neck Contorting isn’t a team sport as a whole row of these would make a wonderful sight. Unfortunately the kotuku is a solitary competitor and very shy with it. It was just as well she wasn’t in the Fly Past event because there was no way she was going to move.
