Bonsoir Monsieur Merlot

There was a time, (not too long ago) when I lived on red wine, imbibing far too much than was good for me (or anyone else probably.) But in my efforts to cut down my calorie intake, one of the things that had to be significantly cut was the vino. 

This was in no uncertain terms the cruelest cut of them all, and it wasn't easy after being addicted to the stuff for nigh on 25 years... but needs be as needs must and it had to happen, with the odd exception as a treat.

Which it was tonight. Outside with the setting of the sun, in the Mediterranean weather we are currently gratefully receiving, it would have been rude not to.
