Wilted

My shot for today was taken indoors because even now at 7 pm, the heat index is 102.  At one point today it reached 110. The central air-conditioning has run continuously and I can only imagine what the August bill will be like. 

These flowers are in the same bouquet as yesterday’s and are completely bent over the side of the vase and ready for the bin. The image seemed to be a good representation of the current heat wave and those of us who are caught in it. 

I made one brief unsuccessful attempt to get a blip outdoors.  In less than 5 minutes, I was drenched and light-headed.  Husband and I spent the early part of the afternoon with visits from AAA and Comcast.  Very exciting stuff happening here.  AAA was here to give his car a jump start and ultimately place a new battery, and Comcast to deal with our ongoing connectivity problems.  Both repairmen were working outdoors so we gave them a constant flow of cold lemonade and towels to wipe the sweat.  Car is fixed, internet is not and we must wait for the yet another technician and a 3rd house call in four days.   Seriously thinking about a switch to FiOs. 

AOG was cancelled here today due to excessive heat.
