decoration #1

every time i go on holiday, i bring back a christmas tree decoration for myself and my mother. at xmas my tree is mismatched and a little crazy, but full of memories - this one is a turkish slipper from istanbul, where i was in january this year. just looking at this brings back the memories of the grand bazaar, which is where i bought it, and also the sights, sounds and tastes (oh the turkish delight!) of the trip. lovely.

i am the distributor of his glad tidings at work - it's nice that i'm in the know when others aren't, but a) i wish i was more in the know, as i'm not really and b) it's kinda bittersweet; happy for him but i'm not a part of making him happy *sigh*
