Ian Lawson exhibition at An Lanntair
With the wind blowing in the ‘right’ direction and our luggage carried by car to Stornoway (by the rest of the family), we enjoyed a very quick tandem ride from Baile-na-Cille to the ferry of around 2 hours and 50 minutes. This gave us to time to have cake for lunch at An Lanntair and to visit the exhibition of Ian Lawson’s beautiful shots of the Hebrides (blipped).
Boarding the ferry was not so straightforward. Normally they let the bikes on first. This means we usually get the pick of the seats in the observation lounge. However, for some reason we were all asked to wait until all the lorries, van, cars and motorbikes were loaded. More annoying was that Jacinda, Julian and Florence were held back from boarding right up until the last five minutes. At one point we thought there wouldn’t be space for them. We have no idea why this happened – only that it was rather worrying.
We ended the day at Rocpool in Inverness with Rhea, Clare, Soo, Jane and Andrew.
