Spot the Blippers!
Going to an art museum with friends who are artists and photographers is very different from going on your own!
Working around surprisingly busy calendars for retired folks, five of us finally pulled off a five-hour get-together here, with two coming up from the Seattle area and one coming down from British Columbia. Endless_Weekend, Artist Annie, tookie, and NannaK gathered at my house, where Phil did the honors with the "group portraits" (see extra).
We had a great chat over pizza and salads at La Fiamma, and then took in two shows at the Whatcom Museum. The Colorfast show, some of which is visible in my blip, inspired playful creativity, exclamations of delight, and cajoling one another into impromptu photo shoots. We could have happily spent an hour or two there, but we also wanted to see the Just Women exhibit of selected works from the museum's collection of artwork by female artists, which had a wide range of subjects in a variety of media, and helped us settle down after the stimulating Colorfast show.
We rounded out the afternoon with gelato at Chocolate Necessities, one of my favorite places downtown, with conversation still going strong, and look forward to seeing one another soon!
