It was a bit cloudy in Kirkwall but it became sunnier as I approached Deerness. We talk of' beautiful days with not a cloud to be seen', but I like clouds like these.
I took a walk from Lighthouses Corner, along the upper road to Den Wick, round Mull Head and back to the corner. There was a very bright tree sparrow in the quarry garden, a red-throated diver off Den Wick and 80 plus fulmar chicks on the cliffs. A few bonxies etc. Lots of wildflowers including many Grass of Parnassus. The extra is a panoramic shot at Den Wick on the north coast of Deerness.
