Engines

Went to the Welland Steam & Country Rally today.  This was our first visit, last year's having been rained off.  

We'd been several times to the Haddenham Steam Fair during our Cambridge life and this felt similar in general feel and scale; but with an even bigger scope.  Not sure how US military vehicles fit the 'steam & country' theme; or indeed the sea of commercial lorries, but perhaps "Welland Oily Stuff Rally" doesn't have quite the same marketing charm. 

One thing we did particularly like here was the 'working field' where earth moving stuff was moving earth, diggers were digging, and ploughing engines were ploughing; so. while this is not exactly a great image (if you want one of those, see here) it's what felt distinctive about the day.
