Uncoveries

The gravel in the kitchen yard has always been a pain, especially when wheeling stuff across it.  We've often considered putting in a path across it, but actually what I wanted now was to clear the gravel from around the fruit van to paint the base.

Discovered that under the gravel, is a couple of inches of chippings.

Under the chippings, is the original paving.

Sigh.  Why do people do things like this?
