Someone's hogging the podium...
The Gray Catbirds were all over the AOG (Alternative Olympic Games) Stadium this morning and a couple of them were very keen on hogging up the stage - apparently they are practicing for a win! Meanwhile, Team Cardinal was practicing some pretty fancy moves, in between trips to the Cafe, and they sent one of their younger athletes to try to dislodge the catbird. Trouble ensued and the cardinal ended up with a bit of a red face, being unable to take over the catbird's seat. No sanctions were issued however.
The same can't be said for Team Squirrel who managed to thoroughly mess up one of the cafes. They've been reprimanded, not that it will do much good, I'm afraid. Team Chippie is keeping a low profile although I have noticed that they are practicing the Short Dash across the patio.
It is only a few days now until Opening Day of the AOG! If you haven't yet rounded up your athletes, get to it! Tag everything between now and the start of the games with AOG2016 and be sure to check that link daily to keep up with all the athletes that are in training. I must say, competition is going to be stiff this year in many categories! Starting on Opening Day, each day's entries should be tagged AOG followed by the date (AOG5, AOG6, etc). On a personal note, I am thoroughly enjoying all the entries very, very much - the creativity of the Blip community is just wonderful!
Overcast day here, but it was great light for photos. I watched swarms of hummers in the garden, snapping pics like a madwoman; then pottered around finding interesting insects. I found two really interesting moths, neither new for me but both year-firsts. I posted both of them, plus a shoto of a just "hatched" monarch butterfly caterpillar (unbelievable tiny) on Flickr, starting HERE.
Thanks so much for stopping by...
